Community Hospital of Bremen is a 24-bed critical access hospital serving Bremen, Indiana, and the surrounding communities in Marshall and St. Joseph counties. As part of Beacon Health System, patients have access to providers, resources and services from across the entire health system. The hospital provides the community with: Emergency Department; diagnostic imaging and lab; radiology, including MRI, CT and ultrasound; general surgery; obstetrics; sleep lab; mammography; physical and occupational therapy; occupational health; swing bed services; and infusion therapy. EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT Community Hospital of Bremen’s Emergency Department is open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Average wait time is about 10 minutes. The Emergency Department public entrance is located on the east side of the building. VISITING HOURS Our visiting hours are 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If the patient's condition requires isolations, visitation may be limited. We encourage family members of pediatric patients to stay with the infant/child at all times, if possible. PATIENT PORTAL To sign up for your patient portal, ask a Beacon associate when you are admitted to or discharged from the hospital. PATIENT REGISTRATION Patient registrars are in multiple areas of the hospital to assist patients. The filing of insurance claims is based on the information provided at the time of registration. Corrections or updates to information after the time of service are the patient’s responsibility. INPATIENT INFORMATION The Medical/Surgical unit consists of 18 private patient rooms, each with its own private bathroom. Our average nurse-to-patient ratio is one nurse to four patients. FOOD AND CAFE The Nutrition Services Department provides nutrition and food services for patients, family members and visitors. We offer a special congratulatory dinner for our new parents! Bremen Hospital Cafe is open to serve you daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and is located just past the main lobby. Outdoor dining is available, weather permitting. GIFT SHOP The Bremen gift shop is operated by volunteer members of the Hospital Auxiliary and is open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The gift shop carries seasonal décor items, cards, jewelry, baby items and specialty items for any gift-giving occasion and your purchase supports the mission of the Hospital Auxiliary. VOLUNTEERING The Bremen Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization promoting the advancement of welfare for the hospital through service and fundraising.
